The establishment of ACS introduces a new venue for exchanging arts and cultures and its launching of this piloted symposium will significantly highlight dialogues as well as enhance the collaboration and practices of current Asian cultures. Located in a non – capital city of Thailand, Chiang Mai, ACS aims to bring active art organizations and experts in many fields in the region together to encourage dynamic dialogues of sharing experiences, ideas, best practices and key challenges, by linking to timely Asian art community networks via ACS.

It aims to bridge the information gap between art people, organizations, and general audiences in the region by constant gatherings at this venue and active participation through various events.

During the opening on Friday 26th August 2016, Mr. Masaya Shimoyama, Managing Director of the Japan Foundation Asia Center will deliver a speech. Then, the Chiang Mai Art Conversation will explain the programs of ACS in the first year, the current and upcoming activities. The program will close with a Shadow – Puppet Theatre by The Wandering Moon Performing Group.

ACS ได้รับการก่อตั้งขึ้นเพื่อเป็นพื้นที่ใหม่ในการแลกเปลี่ยนทางศิลปะและวัฒนธรรม ซึ่งจะเปิดตัวด้วยการสัมมนาเพื่อเสริมสร้างการสนทนาไปพร้อมๆ กับการเพิ่มโอกาสในการมีความร่วมมือและปฏิบัติการในทางวัฒนธรรมเอเชียปัจจุบัน ณ ที่แห่งนี้ ที่เมืองเชียงใหม่ เมืองไกลห่างจากศูนย์กลางของประเทศ ACS ได้มีความตั้งใจที่จะนำองค์กรศิลปะที่คึกคัก และผู้เชี่ยวชาญหลากสาขาวิชาในภูมิภาค มาร่วมกันก่อพลวัตด้วยการแบ่งปันประสบการณ์ ความคิด เรื่องราวของปฏิบัติการที่ยอดเยี่ยม และ ความท้าทายที่สำคัญในการทำงาน อันจะเป็นการสานเครือข่ายชุมชนศิลปะเอเชียร่วมสมัย ณ ที่แห่งนี้ไปพร้อมๆ กัน

เรามุ่งลดช่องว่างของความเข้าใจระหว่างคนทำงานศิลปะ องค์กร และผู้ชมทั่วไปในภูมิภาค โดยสร้างการพบปะในพื้นที่นี้อยู่เสมอ และก่อให้เกิดความมีส่วนร่วมผ่านการจัดกิจกรรมที่หลากหลาย

ในพิธีเปิด วันศุกร์ที่ 26 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2559 นี้ Mr. Masaya Shimoyama กรรมการผู้จัดการ เจแปนฟาวน์เดชั่น เอเชียเซ็นเตอร์ จะมากล่าวสุนทรพจน์เปิด แล้ว เชียงใหม่อาร์ทคอนเวอร์เซชั่น จะอธิบายโครงงานต่างๆ ทุกกิจกรรมของ ACS ที่จะจัดขึ้นในปีแรก และปิดท้ายด้วยละครเงาหุ่นของ กลุ่มพระจันทร์พเนจรและการเดินทางที่ไม่สิ้นสุด
