Asian Culture Station ขอเชิญชวนทุกท่านเข้าร่วมการสัมมนา “เทศกาลศิลปะนานาชาติรายสอง-สามปีในบริบทของอุษาคเนย์” ที่จัดขึ้นเพื่อเพิ่มพูนความรู้ความเข้าใจต่องานเทศกาลศิลปะรายสอง-สามปีให้กับผู้ร่วมกิจกรรม ไม่ว่าจะเป็นศิลปิน ภัณฑารักษ์รุ่นเยาว์ นักจัดการศิลปะ หรือผู้มีอาชีพอื่นๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับศิลปะ โดยเราได้เชิญ ผู้อำนวยการ ภัณฑารักษ์ และ ตัวแทนของเทศกาลจากทั้งประเทศไทย อินโดนีเซีย เวียดนาม และญี่ปุ่น มาเป็นวิทยากร
ปีนี้องค์กรในประเทศไทยหลายแห่งกำลังจะจัดเทศกาลศิลปะนานาชาติรายสองปีขึ้นพร้อมกันถึงสามเทศกาลโดยมิได้นัดหมาย นั่นคือ เทศกาล Bangkok Biennial 2018, Bangkok Art Biennale 2018 และ Thailand Biennale 2018 แต่ละเทศกาลต่างก็มีทิศทางและยุทธศาสตร์ที่แตกต่างกันไป แต่ก่อนที่เทศกาลแรกจะเริ่มต้นขึ้น เราอยากเชิญชวนผู้สนใจทั่วไป มาทำความรู้จักกับเทศกาลประเภทนี้ของประเทศอื่นๆ ในเอเชีย ว่ามีจุดมุ่งหมาย ปรัชญา ขบวนการสร้างนิทรรศการ การนำเสนอความเป็นท้องถิ่น/ต่างถิ่น/อุษาคเนย์ในเวทีนานาชาติ เรื่องราวความสำเร็จกับความล้มเหลว รวมถึงปัญหาและทางแก้ไข วิทยากรที่เราเชิญมาร่วมเสวนาเป็นผู้มีบทบาทแตกต่างกันไปในแต่ละเทศกาล ทั้งเป็นผู้จัด ผู้วิจัย และภัณฑารักษ์ของเทศกาลรายสอง-สามปีทั้งตั้งแต่ครั้งแรก ครั้งถัดมา หรือที่กำลังจะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคต พวกเขาจึงมีมุมมองต่อเทศกาลที่เขาทำงานด้วยต่างกันไปตามบริบทของตำแหน่งการทำงาน ธีมของเทศกาล เมืองที่จัดงาน และปัจจัยอื่นๆ การสัมมนานี้จึงจะเป็นการบรรยายเพื่อนำเสนอกรณีศึกษาจากการทำงานของพวกเขา และการเสวนาตามหัวข้อที่เกี่ยวข้อง
หากท่านกำลังต้องการเพิ่มพูนความรู้ความเข้าใจในเทศกาลศิลปะนานาชาติรายสอง-สามปีในเอเชีย โดยเฉพาะงานที่ว่าด้วยอุษาคเนย์ในเวทีนานาชาติ การสัมมนานี้จะช่วยให้ท่านได้ค้นหาตอบจากผู้มีประสบการณ์เหล่านี้ ทั้งยังมุ่งหมายที่จะต่อเติมโอกาสในทางปฏิบัติสำหรับผู้ที่สนใจจะทำงานเป็นผู้จัดเทศกาลศิลปะนานาชาติรายสอง-สามปีในอนาคตให้ได้เห็นความเป็นไปได้ที่หลากหลายไว้ปรับใช้ได้อย่างเหมาะสมต่อชุมชนนั้นๆ

Asian Culture Station is pleased to invite you to attend the Symposium on International Art Biennales/Triennales in the Southeast Asia Context. This two-day event offers an opportunity to accumulate knowledge and promote greater understanding of art biennales/triennales for all participants: artists, curators, young curators, art managers or art-related professionals. Our featured speakers include distinguished directors, curators, and representatives of various art biennales/triennales from Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Japan.
This year, three art biennales will be held at around the same time by different organizations in Thailand—namely Bangkok Biennale 2018, Bangkok Art Biennale 2018, and Thailand Biennale 2018 — each with its own direction and strategy. Before the first biennale is to take place, we invite interested individuals to familiarize themselves with the unique art event that is a biennale/triennale by drawing on examples from other countries in Asia. The symposium will look at the objectives, philosophies, exhibition development processes, presentations in the local/foreign/Southeast Asia in the international arena contexts, success and failure stories, and problems and solutions. Our invited speakers have played various roles in exhibition development — organizer, researcher, and curator of first-time, continuing, and upcoming future biennales/triennales. As such, they all have different views on exhibition design and management, stemming from the variety of roles each of them has played, the themes of the various exhibitions and the geographical locations, and other relevant factors. This symposium offers a lecture with case studies from featured speakers’ personal experiences together with a panel discussion that covers a range of related topics.
If you are someone who wants to be more well-versed in art biennale/triennales in Asia—especially in Southeast Asia—this symposium offers you a platform to actively participate and seek answers to your questions from people with first-hand experience. This symposium also hopes to open practical work opportunities for anyone interested in organizing an international art biennale/triennale in the future, and to explore all the different possibilities to find the best options for any community.
